Without any doubt, the practice that we have carried out over the last few
weeks has been my favourite. The activity consisted in create our own ideal
school. To build it, we had to read different documents about the inclusive
school. I could learn and inform that:
That some young people leave the school because the lessons that they
are studying does not seem interesting. The goal of inclusive education is to
eliminate the social exclusion. This defends the belief that education is a
human right and the base for one society more just and it aims to live with
difference and learn how to learn from the difference.
The school is the center of the change and it performs such basic
functions in the teaching of students as: increase their results, focus on the
learning and teaching, deal with change regardless of their origin, value their
culture, and monitor and evaluate their process, progress, achievement and
development. The teachers have to: stimulate their students, communicate with
other teachers, increase the working team/cooperative work, use different
strategies in the teaching, they must be very well prepared and focus on the
achievements of their students. Teachers
are the key to make their students have success in the academic and social
ambits so they should know how and in what way is the best to educate the kids,
just as they have to be aware that they also can learn a lot of things from
their students.
The main objectives that we had in mind to create our ideal school were:
- A democratic, fair and equitable education.
- Break down the cultural and structural barriers.
-Defense a public school and education.
-Integrate sociological, anthropological and cultural, political,
ethical and ideological keys to analyze, evaluate and rebuild the schools,
according to certain values and principles.
- The recognition and appreciation of education as a fundamental right
which must be guaranteed to all the persons, without any discrimination or
exclusion, because is a value and a fundamental principle.
-Not be competitive.
-Have a curriculum, teachers and learning according to the values of a
basic inclusive teaching.
- Have a curriculum with rigorous content but essential.
The name of my group is The minions, we chose this name because we
wanted to reflect that if we work together we can get all we want, so we
created the video mixing parts of
"Despicable Me" movies.
The work was not easy, at the beginning we were a little lost, we didn't
know where to start, but at the end, working together we overcome the
obstacles. Each and every one of the groups of the class did a fantastic work
exposing how should be the schools of the future, reflecting the basic
features. The activity prompted us to unleash our creativity, to work in group,
to see that the practice don’t was only a work to be evaluated also was
something that maybe, in the future, would be carried out and probably we will
be part of it.
